Welcome to the Office for Senior Citizens

Our Office was established in 1990, and is part of the Ministry of Social Development.

Our role is to:

• promote the rights and interests of older people
• lead, monitor and promote the New Zealand Positive Ageing Strategy
• provide policy advice on issues that affect older people, and lead strategic and cross-sectoral policy
• support the Minister for Senior Citizens.
