Coping without a car
The study asks “How does lack of private transport affect the lifestyle and quality of life of older people, and how do older people who do not have access to private transport meet their transport needs?”. The report looks at situations of older people living without a car and at the strategies people use to cope. It then suggests some solutions.
The 4-page executive summary gives a succinct overview of the study. The summary report (also available in hard copy from the Office for Senior Citizens) and the full report provide an increasing level of detail.
Review of Older Driver Licensing Policy

The Review may result in changes to the current older driver licensing system. Along with the announcement of positive licensing initiatives for older drivers, the government has released the findings of two key research papers profiling issues relating to older drivers.
